Many dancers consider the end of competition season to be the end of dance season, but we beg to differ! Just because we’re in the interim between this year’s Nationals and next year’s Regional dance competitions, doesn’t mean it’s time to forget about dance entirely. In fact, now is the best time to push yourself to new heights (sometimes literally!), as you will have plenty of time to perfect any new skills you learn before our 2019 dance competitions get underway.
To help dancers continue to grow, we are proud to offer three one-day dance intensives coming up this fall! This year we will be in Columbus, Ohio on October 28th; Charlotte, North Carolina on November 4th; and Worcester, Massachusetts on November 11th.
We are featuring four amazing teachers at our intensives this year, and you won’t want to miss out on this opportunity to learn from the best in the business. Keep reading to learn about the four instructors you will have the opportunity to learn from at the Star Systems Intensive.
David Mann: This Charlotte native will be returning to his hometown for the intensives, as well as joining us in the other cities. With an impressive portfolio, David’s hip-hop and tap choreography can be seen on America’s Got Talent, Good Morning America, The Late Show With David Letterman, Paula Abdul’s Live To Dance, and Little Miss Perfect, as well as Abby Lee Miller’s dance studio from Dance Moms. He has choreographed routines for the Miss America Pageant Organization and halftime performances for the NFL, NBA, and the NCAA. These credits are just the tip of the iceberg for David, whose name is known throughout the industry.
Jeffrey Louizia: With proficiency and deep knowledge of tap, ballet, jazz, hip hop, krump, and Haitian folk dance, Jeffrey has a natural talent for the art. He has been trained by some of the most renowned dance masters, and has a strong base in choreography. He is the founder and director of Lovolution, a movement that helps to teach self-worth and love through dance, and has been featured in multiple music videos ranging from the Black Eyed Peas ‘Rock That Body’ to X Factor winner Alexandra Burke’s ‘Start Without You.’
Victoria Pizzo: Like many of the young dancers we see at our dance competitions, Victoria is a born and raised performer who danced competitively until the age of 18, after which she pursued a bachelor’s degree in dance performance. Even though she is only a few years out of school, Victoria has made a name for herself in the dance world, with credits including the Miss Universe choreography team and the first ever winner of the choreography contest ‘Make Your Move LA.’ She has choreographed and danced in numerous music videos, commercials, films, and television broadcasts.
Melody Lacayanga: Melody has been trained in classical and contemporary ballet, modern jazz, and Afro-Haitian dance, to name a few. Her credits include everything from The Ellen Degeneres Show to American Idol to the Emmy Awards. She has even appeared in TV’s Glee, the MTV European Music Awards, and was featured in Miley Cyrus’s ‘Gypsy Heart Tour.’ She has traveled the world as a dancer, teacher, choreographer, and performer and we are thrilled to have her join Star Systems for our fall intensives!
